Kinsmen Children’s Hospital Home Lottery

The 2009 lottery was a complete success.  This past campaign allowed the club to donate close to 1 million dollars to the Alberta Children's Hospital for a MEG scanner.

Lately the club has donated to the Alberta Children's Hospital to fund the Kinsmen Chair of Pediatric Neuroscience. Dr Wiebe took on the challenge of the position and has built a fantastic Neuroscience team that is working on a number of research and development projects.

A pilot project has also been funded through the Home Lottery and that was used to screen newborn babies for the Cystic Fibrosis gene.  The pilot project has been completed and the Alberta Government now funds the CF screening on a permanent basis.  Alberta is the first province in Canada to fund the CF screening for newborns.
